I’ve made a discovery over the past few months. You see, when I’m in my classroom teaching those lovely sixth graders math, I am constantly drinking bottled water. I keep a case of spring water under my desk (I don’t care for it super cold), so I always have water at my fingertips.
Before school was out I noticed that I was beginning to get headaches by the end of the weekends. Then, once summer got in full swing, I began to have more headaches. I was totally in “summer mode” so no stress to cause them. What was my cause…I wasn’t consuming enough water over the weekends and through those summer days. So I began drinking (or at least trying too) more water throughout the day, and wahla…headaches be gone. Praise the Lord!
This analogy instantly made me correlate the relation between my lack of drinking water causing headaches, and the deficiency of The Living Water in our lives and the havoc that we may ensue from it.
In Isaiah 12:3-6 we read,With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! In that wonderful day you will sing: ‘Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done.  Let them know how mighty he is!  Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things.  Make known his praise around the world. Let all the people of Jerusalem shout his praise with joy! For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.’”
When we drink water, it is good for us. Our body thrives and desires it to make us strong. When we soak up The Son (The Living Water) it is good for us. We thrive and desire more of Him. The Living water fills us with joy! We need to praise Him and share His love with others.
Are you thirsty? Do you need some relief? Drink up Jesus, and you’ll never thirst again. Allow His water to flow through and out of you.

“…but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”John 4:14

“If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from their heart. That is what the Scriptures say.” John 7:38

I know that when I daily consume The Living Water through His word, prayer, and song my days are much more pleasant.
