My life-time friend, Kerri, and I were cheerleaders at the school pep rally last year, at the school where we teach. Sorry, Kerri, but this pic just fit this devotional. 😉

Yesterday was a wonderful day! My family celebrated one of my nephew’s wedding (more on that later), and the Gators beat Tennessee. This family was rejoicing!
On our trip to and from Georgia this weekend I’d notice many cars, trucks, campers, folks at the gas stations and hotel, etc. sporting their support for their favorite football team. You could tell there was much spirit for their team being displayed. Competitiveness and team spirit was in the air.
Well, while driving through Gainesville (Gator Country) today, I just started cheering in my head, “I’ve got Jesus, yes I do. I’ve got Jesus, how ‘bout you?” (I know…I’m a little crazy. You’re not telling me anything new.) It made me think about the season of football that we are in and the “craziness” that often goes with it as we cheer on our favorite team.
If we can get a little “crazy” over a football team, sport their paraphernalia, and show our spirit for a team, why not get a little crazy and share our spirit for Jesus? Just thinking.
So let the chat and cheer begin…“I’ve got Jesus, yes I do. I’ve got Jesus, how ‘bout you?”
“I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through His Spirit. 17 I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.” Ephesians 3:16-17
God is spirit. So the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”  John 4:24
The Spirit God gave us does not make us afraid. His Spirit is a source of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7
“But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these kinds of things.” Galatians 5:22-23
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
