“Then Jesus came to them and said …”
When I read the first seven words of today’s bible verse, I just had to stop and say, “Thank You, Jesus!”
Don’t you wish that Jesus would walk right up to you and just start telling you what you need to hear? Think about it. You’re sitting there pondering on what to do, and up walks The Man and just starts speaking to you.
Well, first of all “Whoa!” To actually see Christ face-to-face would be amazing! Ha, it WILL be amazing! I (and hopefully you as well) will see Jesus in heaven. I can only imagine!
But…wait…He does speak to us. God does tell us what to do. All we have to do is open up the bible. It is God breathing and speaking to us. Well, don’t just open it; read it, pray it, believe it, and obey.
Okay, so let’s continue reading the verse-for-today and hear what Jesus had to say:
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Points to Ponder:
- He is The Man in charge. He has been given ALL authority. (Follow The Leader)
- God wants us to go, teach, and share His love and word with others. (Are you?)
- Obey the Lord. (Just do it.)
- Don’t just do the things you want to do/care to put time into/ or what feels right in the moment…comply with EVERYTHING He tells us to do. (Yikes, I know….it’s hard at times…but will be worth it in the end)
- And NEVER forget…Jesus is with you ALWAYS! (Amen and Amen! That is comforting.)
