Soaking up the CA vibesDo you wake up in the morning and wonder, “What do I wear today?” Or maybe you’re someone who planned your outfit the night before. Oh my, are you one of those who plan your attire for the week?! Good for you. That’s definitely not me. Either way, the thought goes through your mind as to what to do you clothe yourself with that day.
You probably take into consideration the weather, the occasion, and the audience. The season may have a lot to do with your attire as well. (Unless you live where I live and we are still in shorts in November.)
Well, allow me to give you some advice. Actually, it’s not from me but from this pretty amazing guy name Paul. Then again, it’s not even Paul, he and I are just vessels, it’s from God. In Romans 13:14 we read the God-breathed words, “Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”
I used to love to watch the television show What Not to Wear on the TLC channel. My church even did a segment with the same title at a ladies event a few years back, and I got to play the role of Stacy London. It was hilarious with the focus on “modest is hottest”. This whole concept of clothing yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ was mentioned in the What Not to Wear segment at church, and it is still true today.
Remember, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. Just because our times are changing, doesn’t mean His thoughts on how we should dress are changing with our society.
PLEASE still take into consideration the weather and the occasion, but especially the AUDIENCE! Girls/ladies, I’m particularly talking to you (us/me). Cover yourselves up. Think about the message your attire is sending to the eyes of others. Remember…Jesus is looking at you too.
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
