god speaks to youHow does God speak to you?
Does He still speak to us in present time?
In Hebrews 1:1-3a we read:

“In the past God spoke to our people through the prophets. He spoke to them many times and in many different ways. And now in these last days, God has spoken to us again through his Son. He made the whole world through his Son. And he has chosen his Son to have all things. The Son shows the glory of God. He is a perfect copy of God’s nature, and he holds everything together by his powerful command.”

So to answer the second question…Yes!
But how? It is a precious gift from God. I’m not talking necessarily about a “talent” that we read about in the bible that God gives us. No, I’m talking about a true gift. A beautifully wrapped present that God hands us each day. Here are a few suggestions/ways to assist you in hearing the gift of God speaking to you:

  • Pray. Pray for God to open your ears to His word and eyes to His glory. Get ready…when you pray for God to show you something, He will.
  • Listen. Listen to music, conversations, nature, pitter-patter of little feet, animals, etc. I do believe God speaks to us through various forms of His creation. Just like me trying to teach children…no one learns the same way, so I teach in a variety of ways to reach all. God speaks in various ways to help us listen to what He wants to share with us.
  • Look. Put your “God goggles” on and see what God wants to show you. It may not be an audible way He speaks to you that day. God just may want to show you something that you need to understand via a display of again…nature, emotions on faces, words in a song, actions of others, etc.
  • Appreciate. Earlier I mentioned that our Heavenly Father gives a “beautifully” wrapped present each day. You may see something and it may not appear “beautiful” in your human eyes, but through God’s eyes it is. Appreciate the unexpected beauty that God displays for you. Seek the goodness and exquisiteness in all.

My God is powerful, majestic, incredible, and full of things He wants to share with you. I pray that you will allow yourself to receive His precious gift that He desires to give you. Pray, listen, look, and appreciate.
Oh, and being that I’m a true southerner, don’t forget to use your manners and say, “Thank you, Lord!” You can even go ahead and be specific in your thanks. He likes it when we chat with Him.
I pray many blessings and much JOY for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
