Oh how precious and true are those words. I love them! They have touch my heart this morning in a way I just can’t share with you right now.
What I will share is this:
I am a prayer warrior. If you need someone to pray, I’m your girl. When I need to drop to my knees, I’m on it. But, I must confess…I am not the best at being consistent in keeping up with a prayer journal. I have one. I am envious in a good way towards those who are so faithful at keeping one. Looking back and seeing how God answered prayers is always amazing and comforting to me. Oh, my, maybe that’s one of those “resolutions” I’ve tried before and didn’t complete. Maybe I need to make it a “timely-tenacity” , like I journaled about yesterday.
Well, last night I did open my Prayer Journal and wrote six pages of a prayer for one of my children. This morning I jotted down another lengthy prayer for this child of mine. Then, when I read Micah 6:8, I smiled and thanked God for the “timely tenacity” He desires for me right now.
I have three amazing, and amazingly different children. I felt God nudge me to go purchase three different prayer journals, one for each child. No, it won’t be for them to write in, but for me to fill up those pages with “A Mother’s Prayers”. I can just imagine one day (any day) for my children to pick up their “A Mother’s Prayer” journal that is specifically for them and begin reading the words that God had inscribed on my heart to be written down as a love letter for my children.
In Micah 6, God has a complaint against His people. In verse three the Lord says, “O my people, what have I done to you? What have I done to make you tired of me? Answer Me!” See, the Lord hasn’t done anything to wrong us of to make us tired of Him, that’s all on us. God’s intentions are for nothing but for good for us. We are the ones who make the choices in our lives.
My one child mentioned above is going through a completely different experience in their life than what we all had envisioned. Why? Choices. So, what do they need to do about it; waller around in self-pity? No! Take this opportunity, this new day that God has given us, to make a change. Make a change that involves God and see how the details of their life will one day tell of a beautiful story of redemption, grace, and love. Glory! Yes, there will be glory in the end, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
This morning, when I read Micah 6:8, I didn’t just smiled and thanked God for the “timely tenacity” He desires for me right now, I wrote it at the bottom of my prayer for my child. God requires for them, for us all, to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. Amen!
