“You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14
While visiting Stockholm, Sweden we went aboard the Lightship Finngrundet. This vessel was built in 1903. The purpose of a lightship was to guide and protect incoming vessels and to remain stationary in very rough seas which other vessels can avoid danger. The crewmen aboard were to be faithful and courageous, regardless of the seas conditions, in guiding other vessels to safety. The Finngrundet had undergone renovations and modifications in the 1920’s, 40’s, and 50’s. Today she is a ship’s museum attached to the in-cre-di-ble Vasa Museum.
When you read the descriptive objective of a lightship above, the words guide, protect, remain stationary, courageous, and faithful holdfast to how we Christians are to be for the world.
In Matthew 5:14 Jesus informs us that WE are the light that shines for the world to see.

Where does our light come from? When we remain close to and in God’s will, I believe His reflection shines in us. He is The Light. 1 John 1:5 reminds us that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness”.
Just like the moonlight is a reflection of the sun, WE are to be a reflection of The Son.
I want to encourage you to stay close to God so His reflection will shine bright in and through you. Be strong in the Lord. Be courageous in Him. Remain faithful to His teachings. Help guide others to a closer walk with Christ. Protect others as Satan so dangerously tries to snatch them.
I pray that you will enjoy soaking up THE SON every moment of each day. –Stephanie
