“…She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloths and placed him in a manager…” Luke 2:7 NLT

Multiplying is taken place in our family, and I’m not talking about math.  One niece had a baby about eight months ago, another just a year ago.  My step-sister-in-love gave birth to a full head of hair boy in November. Three nieces are due in 2018.  Whoa!  That’s a lotta love to hold.

My two nieces are due in February. Dee will be a grand instantly twice.

This week I got to snuggle up with Graham (my nephew who was born in November).  Be still my heart.  There’s just something, for me, about holding a baby that calms my soul.  When I was rocking baby Graham to sleep, his head was nuzzled on my shoulder, as I had the blanket swaddling him close to me.  I would lean in and allow his precious chunky cheeks brush against mine.  Those lips were so kissable looking.  His countenance was total peace.
I mentioned to my daughter that this is what I would do all day when they were first born.  Eat. Poop. Sleep. Repeat.  (New parents, hold on to those babies.  Time soars way too fast.)

My baby holding Graham (NOT her baby! 🙂 )

Can you imagine how Mary felt holding her precious baby boy?  Step back and consider each turn he would take in her tummy.  Did the King of Kings get the hiccups in the womb making Mary’s belly jump? Was Mary’s pregnancy one with any physical complications, or was she so bathed in the Holy Spirit that God made the pregnancy the most peaceful one to date?  Did Mary count Jesus’ fingers and toes, or did she take it for granted that He was The Perfect One? Oh, I believe her motherly instinct kicked in and she counted all his extremities, AND counted it ALL JOY!
I know that when I was snuggling with my three babies, and gazing into their eyes or staring at their little perfect faces while they slept in my arms, it was a pondering moment of complete love.

Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  Luke 2:19 NIV

Much like Mary wrapped him snugly, Jesus will hold you tight.
Are you in need to some comforting?  Allow yourself to rest in The Comforter’s arms.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4

God will hold you.  He will take your right hand and help you.
Rest in Him.  Be held by the love of God.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
