Stay away from that path; don’t even go near it. Turn around and go another way.  Proverbs 4:15
Walking the Blackwater Creek Preserve with my man is peaceful, and sometimes eventful way to begin my morning.
This week, we were chatting and walking, when I notice we had spooked a deer, which was bedding in the nearby brush.  It took off into the field in the opposite direction of us.  We halted and observed the deer’s acrobatic leaps through the meadow.
When we commenced walking through the woods, the trees must have obscured the deer’s vision of us.  Tim whispered, “Stop.  It’s coming straight towards us.”
Phone in hand.  Video mode went into action.  Just in time…this deer was running down the trail, as fast as it could.  Tim, again, whispered, “Watch this.”  Bless her heart, as soon as she spotted us, she did a hard left to avoid contact with us.
Immediately, thoughts came to my mind, and I said, “Now there’s a devotional.”
Tim agreed, and perceptively said, “Sometimes when you think you are running away from danger, in fact you’re running right into it.”

Son, listen to me. Do what I say, and you will live a long time. 11 I am teaching you about wisdom and guiding you on the right path. 12 As you walk on it, you will not step into a trap. Even if you run, you will not trip and fall. 13 Always remember this teaching. Don’t forget it. It is the key to life, so guard it well.  14 Don’t take the path of the wicked; don’t follow those who do evil. 15 Stay away from that path; don’t even go near it. Turn around and go another way. Proverbs 4:10-15

In 2 Timothy 2:22, we are instructed and encouraged to flee from evil, and to do our best to live right and to have faith, love, and peace .

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.  2 Timothy 2:22

Friend, when you see danger (sin), flee!  Turn and head a different direction.
If you listen closely to the video, you hear Tim laugh in the end.  I pray that at the end our your life circumstance, you will not hear Satan snicker because you surrendered to temptation, yet hear our Heavenly Father rejoice because you surrendered to Him.
Have a wonderful day!
Many blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
