It’s never too late to start reading the Bible through in a year.  Your year can start at anytime! With the website that I have a direct link to at the top of Soaking Up The Son, you can customize your day to begin today, or any day of the year!
Here’s my random thoughts while reading today’s scriptures.  I hope you are encouraged to read along with me. There’s some good stuff in here. I’m not cocky, just grateful God reveals insights to me.  It’s ALL Him and totally NOT me.
Day 10 of 2020:
Genesis 23:1-24:51
*Learning from Abraham’s life: Do right and live for God…others will notice…you will have a good reputation and gain the respect of others. Be a person of integrity.  Be honest and fair. Honor God.
*Be specific in your prayer life.
*Even when we may not be sure we are on the right path, where God wants us, His unfailing love will shine through.  Keep seeking His will. Have faith in God.
*God will prepare a way. His angels will go before you. Your mission will be successful with God.
*God will lead you straight on His path.  Be careful not to take a detour. Ugh and ouch.
Matthew 8:1-17
*The man with leprosy believed Jesus could heal him and make him clean.  He was making sure Jesus was ready at that time…as if he didn’t want not inconvenience Jesus. Jesus is always ready.
*Jesus wanted the man to tell the priest what happened so that he will have a public testimony.  That is what we need to do…we all have sinned, we need to confess, then publicly testify what God has done for us.
*A Roman officer, someone who would normally be hated by the Jews because of oppression, distributed great faith.
*I know I’ve said before, “I’m not worthy”. But I must quickly remember that to God, I am priceless and of great worth. I am a child of God.  Do you need that reminder too?
*For what may seem impossible or difficult for us, to Christ is a simple task. Believe.
*Jesus came to heal.  Do you need a healing in your heart today?
Psalm 9:13-20
*Don’t ignore God.
Proverbs 3:1-6
*I think about the umpteen times in my life when God taught me a lesson, whether it was from reading my bible, hearing a sermon, or my own pathetic sin. When I read verse 1, it made me think how although God forgets our repented sins, we still remember them…I believe it is for us to “never forget the things I have taught you” (the Lord said in verse 1).  I am so grateful that He teaches me and makes me clean. May I always remember the grace God has shown me.  Thank.  You.  God!!
*Trust in the LORD! When we try to do things our way (all I can do is speak for myself at the many times I have, and sometimes stupidly still try to), it may be temporarily satisfying, but not in the long run.  God’s plans for us are perfect! Trust Him with ALL your heart. He will NEVER fail you. He will show you the path to take.
All I can do is say THANK YOU, LORD, FOR YOUR WORD, GRACE, MERCY, AND BLESSINGS.  I am overwhelmed by Him.
Have a glorious day.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie

Yikes! When I went to read my bible this morning, I noticed that I totally forgot to read Genesis 21 and 22 yesterday.  Here are my journaling notes from reading those chapters this morning:
*A kid at 100 years of age?!  Nothing is impossible with God.
*Even when you have given up…God hasn’t.  God will provide.
*Chapter 22 always blows my mind! *God told Abraham to go and sacrifice his beloved son. In verse 3 it says that he got up early and went.  I couldn’t imagine he slept at all that night! *I could go on and on regarding this scripture.  Here is a link to my thoughts on this before: https://soakinguptheson.com/new/daily-journaling/faith/
