Thanks for joining me on the journey through the Bible.  It is my prayer that you will be encouraged to dive into God’s word and learn more about Him and how to live.

Genesis 8:1-10:32

*Verse 8 starts off with these four words, “But God remembered Noah”.  God will not forget about you either. During those trying times, or moments of silence, rest and trust in Him.  He will not forget about you. Noah was on that boat for over a year! Be patient.  And make sure you do not forget about God as well.

*I love rainbows! Let us remember, especially nowadays, what the rainbow truly represents…a sign of God’s covenant…a symbol that He will keep His promises. He does! ( I do have a rainbow journal entry coming this week.  It’s called Chasing Rainbows.)

*I’m a bit perplexed about verses 20-28.  Why was Canaan cursed? I typed that question in got questions website and it appears I’m not alone.  Here’s how they answered by question:

Matthew 4:12-25

*Jesus was doing what He was sent to do: preach, teach, announce the Good News, and heal.

*When Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John were asked by Jesus to follow Him, they all at once/immediately followed Christ.  I think about how our response may be a bit slow compared to these men. They were ordinary men like us, why do some delay in following Christ?

*When I read that Jesus was “announcing the Good News”, I was reminded of a couple of things: 1) How we are to share the Good News, and 2) a statement my pastor (Dr. Brian Stowe) said back in November, that I had written down in my notes…”The Good New is only good news if it gets to people in time.” Oh how I pray that you have received The Good News (Jesus and His love) and that you a re sharing Him with others.

Psalm 4:1-8

*I often say “put a smile on God’s face.” Well, here it is in scripture. In verse 6 we read, “Let your face smile on us, LORD.” (NLT).  I sure hope and pray that I put a smile on God’s face.  How’s bout you? (I just thought about Buddy the Elf when he says, “Smiling is my favorite thing.”  Keep a smile on God’s face…I bet it’s one of His favorite things.)

Proverbs 1:20-23

*Wisdom is speaking here.  She calls out to the simpletons, mockers, and fools.  I looked up synonyms for simpleton and the ones that jumped out to me was bonehead, numskull, ignoramus.  Yikes…I don’t want to be a bonehead when it comes to God.  Wisdom, I’m listening.  Share with me and make me wise.

Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
