Newsflash…we live in a broken world.

If we could turn on the news or radio or scroll through social media and see only goodness, we would all be smiling, and be full of happiness.

But…we live in a broken world.

People hurt.  Heartache is part of life.  No one is perfect.

But…it is through those broken areas in life that we grow, are given courage and encouragement, and find ways to bring glory to God through it all.  At least that’s how we are supposed to treat the brokenness in our lives.

Tim and I have a saying nailed to the wall in our outdoor living area.  It reads, “Now what?” Y’all, stuff happens in life that, well, plain ole sucks. You have a choice.  You can either choose to allow bitterness, resentment, jealousy, anger, etc. invade your life, or discover a way to bring glory to God.

When you choose to bring glory to God, you will discover that happiness isn’t what you are full of…nope, that is temporary…yet joy.  Jesus Christ will fill you with unexplainable joy that will assist you through those broken/tough times in life.

In Romans 8:28-30 ERV we read,

We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love Him. These are the people God chose, because that was His plan. God knew them before He made the world. And He decided that they would be like His Son. Then Jesus would be the firstborn of many brothers and sisters. God planned for them to be like His Son. He chose them and made them right with Him. And after He made them right, He gave them His glory.

Do you?  Do you really know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love the Lord?  Sometimes we may shake our heads, tap our feet, and watch our clocks and wonder, “When is the good going to come, Lord?”  But it will.

Remember, His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8).

Recently, I woke up, began thinking of all the craziness going on around me, then started singing “Something beautiful, something good…”. God flooded my mind with the goodness that is in my life, and reminded me that I am to focus on heaven and being a light for Him.

I searched for the song, because I could only remember the chorus.  Lauren Daigle’s version came up.  Love me some LD. Glory!  It is so beautiful!  Listen:

So, now what?  Will you choose to wallow like a pig in the mud in confusion and strife, or will you allow the Lord to make something beautiful out of the mess you are in or that’s around you?

Be the light.

Focus on heaven.

Turn your temporary happiness into lasting joy through Jesus Christ.

Be Beautiful!

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Something beautiful, something good

All my confusion He understood

All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife

But he made something beautiful of my life
