I had no idea what the weather was doing this morning. I rose from my bed, read the scripture for the day, opened the bedroom door to let the dog out, then as I opened the front door I heard rain falling from the sky with the wind hounding through the landscape.  No wonder our dog, Marley, didn’t want to go out.
The original scripture for today was only Isaiah 55:8-9, but in typical Stephanie fashion, I had to continue reading.

The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like yours. Your ways are not like mine. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. “Rain and snow fall from the sky and don’t return until they have watered the ground. Then the ground causes the plants to sprout and grow, and they produce seeds for the farmer and food for people to eat. In the same way, my words leave my mouth, and they don’t come back without results. My words make the things happen that I want to happen. They succeed in doing what I send them to do. “So you will go out from there with joy. You will be led out in peace. When you come to the mountains and hills, they will begin singing. All the trees in the fields will clap their hands. Large cypress trees will grow where there were thornbushes. Myrtle trees will grow where there were weeds. All this will happen to make the Lord known, to be a permanent reminder of his goodness and power.”  Isaiah 55:8-13 ERV

Oh how the verses fit perfectly with the weather this morning.
After the rain, Tim and I went on a beautiful morning walk.   I mentioned the Bible verses to him and said how we are reminded that we are to read God’s word and let it soak in. God’s word in us isn’t supposed to stay there, but to radiate from us and be shared.
Friend, there will be results when you dive into God’s word.  I want to encourage you to read your bible, pray over it and ask God to speak to you and through you, and share what you’ve learned with others.
If you want to follow along with me as I read the book of Acts, please visit the Soaking up The Son YouTube account.  I read one chapter per video and add tidbits of insight I gain.
Blessings to you and yours,
