How appropriate that in the midst of National FFA week, I had the opportunity to sit down and interview one of my favorite teachers, a mentor, and friend. We spoke of the Florida Strawberry Festival, the FFA, family, and his relationship with the Lord.

When I think of Mr. Ray Clark, the title “Eternal Ag Teacher” comes to mind. He may have officially retired after 36 years as an agricultural educator, but this man is one who remains involved in his former students’ lives and numerous currently enrolled students who are exhibitors at the festival. Generations of family members have had the privilege of not only calling Mr. Clark their teacher, but their friend.

I had no idea where our conversations would go. Mr. Clark is a man who always makes you laugh and has always been a jokester. I believe that when you watch the interview, you will discover the reason why he loves to laugh and make others laugh, and also observe a humble man who is reflective on life, and compassionate and passionate about others and Jesus.

Take a trip down memory lane with a blessed man…Mr. Ray Clark.

Mr. Clark joined me on stage at a state FFA convention to clog.

This influential man reminds us that we influence others. With decisions that you make, be mindful that little eyes are watching you.

Mr. Clark challenges you to get involved in church and your community. It is about relationships in life, and the most important relationship for Ray is the one with Jesus Christ.

John 14:1, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”

Thank you, Mr. Clark, for joining me in the red chairs. Now..take me to Buc-ees.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Mr. Clark says, “God plays a big role in everybody’s life, whether they know it or not.” and “Get to know Jesus. Get involved in a church…get involved with the right people.”

In 2018, many of us attended a “Ray Clark Appreciation Roast”.  My brother, Kennth Parker, was given the task to pen words for the man he says is no doubt “one of my heroes”. These words are scribed on the wagon wheel: “The iconic wagon wheel is symbolic of long successful journeys and perpetuity. Ray Clark, you are worthy of the comparison for your decades of service to agricultural youth and the Florida Strawberry Festival. Mr. Clark, you are the hub of the wheel, supporting the weight of our journeys and life experiences, while tying us all together in a circle of continual admiration.”
