Psalm 67:1-2 reminded me of what I hope to be through this website and in person as well.  It is a song of praise that says, “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine on us, so that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”
I read the words “shine on” and I can totally imagine “soaking up The Son in the sun” on the beach or out on the water.  This imagination is not a far fetch for me as you can tell through the numerous beach pictures I post.  I sense God’s presence in various surroundings.  God speaks to me in a gentle whisper through nature, His glorious creation.
Via this website I pray that God is using me as a tool to “make His ways known”, and that I will share “His salvation with others around the world”.
Is God “gracious to me and bless me”?  He is and indeed does!  He does so beyond what I think I deserve.
So, I’m going to personalize this verse for me, turn it into a prayer, and possibly claim it as a verse for this site:
“Dear Lord, thank You for your graciousness.  You wake me each day to grow my relationship with You through Your word.  You bless me with Your insight, wisdom, love, and forgiveness. Oh how I desire to have others see You shining in me through my words and actions. Shine on, God.  Shine in, Lord.  Shine through me!  Please use this website as a tool so that others will know You more and better.  I pray that someone, even just one, Lord, will accept You as their Savior.  You are the great Deliverer!  I love You, Lord!  Amen.”
I felt as if I had typed something similar on last year’s post, so I went back to last May 28th and noticed a similar theme.  It’s humbling to read that post from one year ago today, and then go and compare the statistics of how many people actually read Soaking Up The Son today.  My eyes well up with tears, my heart is overflowing with gratitude, and my face is lifted to God praying for all and thanking Him for His and your faithfulness.  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
Blessings beyond to y’all!
