Cole, getting ready to "soak up" some waves and sun.

Cole has a sign in his room that we bought when he was a toddler that says, “I’m not bossy, I just have better ideas.”  This saying fit his and Holly’s personality to a tee back then.  They get their sometimes stubbornness honestly.  Tim and I both can have a “set in our way” type of mentality.  But they are learning, just as Tim and I have grown to learn, and I know continue to do so in our middle age, that it’s all good to be determined about things, but keep an open mind, learn from your mistakes, listen to others advice when given, and ask God about it all above it all.
When I read Proverbs 12:15 yesterday, I read it to Cole and explained it to him.  As in his usual Cole fashion, he nodded his head, looked like he was pondering the thought, and said a little diddy about it proving that he understood the proverb.  He said, “That good advice.”  I replied back as if “Duh”, “Yes, it’s from God.”
A little later, Holly joined Cole and me in the room.  I said something to her in an advice or suggestion fashion.  She came back with a typical “I’ve got this” type of reply.  I giggled and told Cole, “I think we need to share Proverbs 12:15 with Holly.”  We read it aloud, “Fools always think their own way is best, but wise people listen to what others tell them.”  Cole said, “Isn’t it cool when we read a verse from God and then He gives a chance to apply it?”  Yes! Yes! Yes!
Cole, you’ve got it! God gives us opportunities everyday to see His word in action and to apply His word to our lives.  Yes!  You are growing to be a wise young man.
I’m blessed!
