This is a picture of Jany's handwriting in her bible.

Sigh.
Here, please read 2 Corinthians 5:2,4-8:
We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing… While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
When reading these verses, I should feel excited about one day receiving a “heavenly body”.  That just sounds great!  But, as I sit here with watery eyes, and with lots of thoughts running through my head, I can’t help but not think of my mother-in-law’s thoughts in her last days here on earth.
Her body, inside and out, was very frail.  I know how she loved to live life here on earth for her family.  But knowing her, and from conversations, and from the last words she penned, she was ready to be rid of her earthly body.
(Tissue, please.)
After reading this scripture and pondering on Jany’s last thoughts, I asked Tim to bring me her bible.  I was seeking.  I wanted to know if she had left any notes near these verses. I contemplated on what were the last verses she read.  All I found was these words, “Don’t live for this world, but live for the next.”
We need to live for heaven while we are here on earth.  Each breath we take, we need to live for Christ and desire to make a difference in this world.  We need to live for heaven, but find the glory in this “heaven on earth” that God has placed us in for this season of our lives.
Thank you for allowing me to share this personal moment with you.  Thank you for faithfully reading these entries, hopefully being able to relate life to scripture, and for sharing God’s love for all.
Blessings to you all.
