Yesterday was an exciting day at our church. We unanimously voted on our new pastor.  He preached a message from the series he has been preaching to his home church in Georgia on The Lord’s Supper.  The verse he focused on was from Matthew 6:10, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”  This verse had great meaning for Brother Brian (Dr. Brian Stowe) due to the great change that is occurring in his family’s life now.  He and his family (Bonnie and their four children) truly want to live in God’s will for their lives and not their own will/desire.
After his sermon, I was diligently praying for each member in my family and for each of us to desire and seek God’s will for our lives because His way s are sooooo much better than our ways.
Well, when I was taking my “medium-adult’s” Sunday school attendance to the Sunday school office, the youth pastor passed me, actually stopped me, in the hall and said, “Do you want to come co-teach the 9th grade girls class?”  The first response in my head and heart was, “Yes!!” But I want to check with God first.  He mentioned something to the other ladies who help with this group of girls, and they were excited.  I always loved those ladies, and it would be great to work with them sharing God’s love with teen girls. Teen girls!!! (I love teens!)
Ricky, the youth pastor, handed me some teaching paraphernalia and I again told him that I would love to, but let me pray before I say yes and talk to Tim as well.
You see, just two weeks ago Tim mentioned to me that I needed to go back into service and Tim specifically said “youth”. Then, after praying about it since then and hearing the sermon I heard on God’s will, this just may be in it.  Is it?  Oh, I hope it is, but want it to be totally God’s plan and not Stephanie’s desire.
This morning I read Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-12.  Confirmation?
“We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.
His will?  Wisdom and understanding?  Endurance and Patience (with youth)? Sharing His love with others?  Hmmmm, looks like God is guiding me into His decision.
I want to ask you to pray for me also. Thanks.
His will, NOT mine/ours!!
Blessings and God’s abundant love to all!
