What does God see when He looks at you?  Is it the quantity of time and money you’ve poured into yourself by acquiring any of the following:  make-up, facials, hair coloring and styling, manicures, pedicures, cosmetic surgery, tanning, etc.?  I admit, I have done (and still do some) six out of the seven practices on this simple list.
Right now, as I am just days shy of turning 45 years of age, I am finally wearing braces on my teeth.  Well, I’m no “metal mouth”.  I am wearing invisalign. My daughter forbade me to wear the same type of braces that she is wearing because I’m “too old”.  The things we do to enhance our outer beauty.
Now I am not suggesting in any way that all these procedures are wrong.  Can people (men included) take it a bit too far? Absolutely! But let’s pause and reflect on what we need to make sure we are doing that trumps all the beauty products and practices.
1 Peter 3:3-4 declares “Your beauty…should be that of your inner self, the unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
Proverbs 31:30 says, “Charm is deceptive and beauty does not last;  but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”
The amount of time and finances spent on our external appearance won’t last forever.  But the amount of time spent learning and growing closer to God, and sharing His love, is of the greatest value.
What makes you beautiful?  God’s glory and love shining through you.  That’s what makes you beautiful.
Go be beautiful in God’s eyes.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
