I would be amiss if I didn’t journal about the most important lady in my life.
She was born on January 24th, 1941. I remember her telling me stories about when they got their first television, how her daddy wouldn’t allow her and her sisters to dance, how she was the FFA sweetheart at Pinecrest High School, and many more stories of old, l mean of just a few years back. 😉
This lady was, and most certainly still is, a gorgeous brown-eyed brunette.  Her beauty doesn’t only appear on the outside, but the inside too.  She was always known for her enthusiasm and compassion for life.  Galatians 5:22-23a says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control;”  These characteristics are quite visible in her life today.
She was a wonderful homemaker, who still makes the best buttermilk biscuits!  She was a taxi driver for her children to and from their various sporting events and FFA activities.  (And still often is for her grandchildren.)  She loved having socials at her home, and still thrives on entertaining these days.
She is a godly woman who always had her four children in church.   Her four children, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren are all Christians.  Praise God!  Her children may have (ok, did have) their moments, but they always ended up back in The Father’s arms. Their mother raised them well. She did as Proverbs 22:6 commands, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
Proverbs 29:15 says, “Punishment and discipline can make children wise, but children who are never corrected will bring shame to their mother.Boy oh boy did this godly woman believe verse fifteen.  She lovingly disciplined her children, but it was always because she loved them.
Why is she the most important lady in my life?  Well, in Exodus 20:12 we are commanded to, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”  This V.I.P. is my MOM!
Proverbs 31:31: “Give her the reward she deserves. Praise her in public for what she has done.”  I am publicly praising her for the life she’s lived, lives, and instills in her offspring.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!
I love you!
