Cole explaining how to play the game.

I LOVE it when all my kiddos are together!
It’s Friday night.  (First of all, Whew, and Woohoo!!)  After a long week of work, the highlight of my day is knowing that I get to spend time with my family.
Cole had a 7:45pm basketball game, so Tim prepared a fulfilling grilled chicken and ham with provolone cheese meal prior to game time.  While we were getting dinner organized the kids were playing a game. Actually, Cole was teaching Holly, Hunter, and Samantha how to play the game of Social Security.  (It’s a card game he enjoys playing at nana’s house.) *Click* photo moment…All the children together, in one place, doing an activity together….priceless.  I LOVE it!
After a brief and incomplete card game, dinner was ready.  Laughs and good conversation was had, and then it was time for Coach Tim and player Cole to leave early for the game.  The rest of us continued chatting and then it was game time.
The boys won their game, something like 59-39. Cole scored six points.  Then it was back to the house for a movie.
Dinner, two games, and a movie with all of us together called for one happy momma.  I LOVE it!
I know in today’s world, life gets busy.  Work, school, sports, friends, etc. often seem to consume our lives.  Family dinners often take a backseat to “grab-and-go” on the way to another activity.  Conversations with others take precedence over getting to have quality conversations and time with family.  Before too long, you consider others more family than your own.
I’m not against being engaged in activities at all. No way!  I just hope that we all can slow down enough in life to not only teach our children that time management, dedication, and integrity isn’t only valued in whatever sport or job they are involved in , but in the family first.
Family has always taken second priority in our lives.  God first, and then family.
So the teenager may pout about not going to dinner with their friends one night.  Guess what…they get over it.  So the kid may miss out playing an online video game with some friend.  Big deal…they survive.  So the parent didn’t get to join their friends or co-workers after a long day or week to unwind…whoop-tee-do.  Having the family all together wins!
Make time for your family.  Show them how dedicated you are to them and not something or someone else.  Integrity is gained in the long run, and valuable lessons are learned from being to-ge-ther as a family.
I LOVE my family time!
Colossians 3:18-20, The Message (MSG)
18 Wives, understand and support your husbands by submitting to them in ways that honor the Master.
19 Husbands, go all out in love for your wives. Don’t take advantage of them.
20 Children, do what your parents tell you. This delights the Master no end.
(Stephanie’s added verse:)  Family…stick together.
Day 7 LOVE…I love it when my family is all together!
I pray God’s abundant love and blessing for y’all.
