Same picture, different lesson.

*Smack*!!
This morning when I went into the restroom to get ready for the day I heard a buzzing sound.  Oh that all too familiar sound of the dreaded mosquito.
I stopped, looked around without movement, went to glance in the mirror to see if I could see this not-so-lovely creature behind me, and there it was…right in front of me.
When I went to smack it, I didn’t think I would be able to at first because of its location.  But to my surprise and great delight, the sound was muted and the mosquito was lying still in the sink.  Success!!
Mosquitoes can be compared to sin.  Sin is annoying and often not-so-lovely.  It can crept up behind you and often be right in front of our faces.  Sin can be tough to want to rid of sometimes, but when it’s gone boy of boy do we feel free and successful!
God told Cain in Genesis 4:7, “Sin is lying in wait for you, ready to pounce; it’s out to get you, you’ve got to master it. Master it, smack it, attack it! Do whatever you need to do to rid sin in your life.
I praise God that He sent His Son to conquer sin.  I claim 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 this morning:

  • Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:  “Death is swallowed up in victory.O  death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.  But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
I remembered that this isn’t my first journaling experience about mosquitoes.  Read “Buzzzzz-smack” for another take “life lesson” on this irritating creature.
