This morning, as we are traveling to Moffitt Cancer Center, to discuss my father-in-love’s health, I find that diving into God‘s word and praying is not only comforting, yet fills me with peace, love, strength, hope, and trust in my Heavenly Daddy.
Here is the prayer I wrote for our day, and the scripture to back it up. To God be all the glory:

Lord, we trust in You and You alone.  We know that all things work together for good, for those who are called according to Your purpose. We acknowledge the fact that You know every detail of our lives…from beginning to end. We trust in You!

Thank You for the hope we have in You. You fill us with joy and peace and power that only comes from You, Lord. We are confident in Your will for our lives. During tough times, in the waiting, and always we are encouraged by and through You word.  The Bible was written to guide and instruct us, and we are grateful for the perseverance it fills us with. When we are weak, you are strong, and You make us strong. Thank You for being in the waiting and giving us the courage to simply make it each day. We need You, dear heavenly Daddy.

Lord, You say that we will have trials in this world, and that You give us peace through these difficult and trying times.  Thank You. Help us to overcome any fears or doubts that may come to mind. You have overcome the world, and You help us to overcome it as well. You make us brave. I pray that the peace of Christ rules in our hearts will be felt to the nth degree.

Lord, we don’t understand You ways and thoughts. But through it all, You give us courage, character, love, and the power to preserve when we are in the midst of difficult seasons of our lives. You love us, Lord, and we take delight in You.

We lift our hearts to You and pray for healing.  Lord, we have no idea if you choose to heal our loved ones either here on earth or in heaven. But we do know that we want You to receive all the glory in the end. Thank You for your love and compassion.

We love You, Lord, Amen.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5 NIV

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:6 NLT

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NLT

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Romans 15:4 NLT

So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord! Psalm 31:24 NLT

But the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. Only when you are weak can everything be done completely by my power.” So I will gladly boast about my weaknesses. Then Christ’s power can stay in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 ERV

Be strong and brave, all of you who are waiting for the Lord’s help. Psalm 31:24 ERV

“I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!” John 16:33 ERV

The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like yours. Your ways are not like mine. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 ERV

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:3-5 NLT

My soul, praise the Lord and never forget how kind he is! He forgives all our sins and heals all our sicknesses. He saves us from the grave, and he gives us love and compassion. He gives us plenty of good things. He makes us young again, like an eagle that grows new feathers. Psalm 103:2-5 ERV

Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
