Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Psalm 62:1 NIV
I must calm down and turn to God; only He can rescue me. ERV
My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation. NASB
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. NLT
God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as He says. MSG
There’s just something about God’s word that ignites a copious amount of feelings.  When I read Psalm 62:1 I felt total peace and comfort.
No matter what you are going through or how long you are going through it, just know that when you trust in God, and don’t get restless and take matters into your own hands, there will be victory.
When the enemy tries to bring you down, remember Who your rock is.

He alone is my rock and my salvation, My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened.  Psalm 62:2 AMP

With God, in God, and through His mighty power, you will find strength.
In the commentator section of my study bible it reads, “David expressed his feelings to God and then reaffirmed his faith.  Prayer can release our tensions in times of emotional stress. Trusting God to be our rock, salvation, and fortress will change our entire outlook on life.  No longer must we be held captive by resentment toward others when they hurt us. When we are resting in God’s strength, nothing can shake us.”
Y’all, we live in a broken world.  People are going to hurt us (and you will hurt others). How you handle the situation makes a huge impact on yourself (mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually), and others around you.  I can think of numerous situations when others have hurt me. I have/had a choice: either allow bitterness, unforgiveness, wrath, animosity, and a plethora of other emotions that Satan loves for us to have conjuring within us eat away at me, or I can turn to my Strongtower (God) and lean on Him for…well, everything. When we completely give it all to God, all those feelings previously mentioned are null and void. Forgiveness is freeing.  Bitterness be gone. Malice has moved on. Victory is in vision. I choose God.
In Psalm 62:5-8 AMP David reiterates what he had already said:

For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged. On God my salvation and my glory rest; He is my rock of [unyielding] strength, my refuge is in God. Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

I pray that your hope is so solid in Jesus Christ that you will not be shaken.
Stand strong, my friend.  Stand strong in the Lord.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
